Shining Your Light (Safely)

We want to share God's word in a positive light, not in the "fire and brimstone" way, so follow these tips to avoid any unwanted flames!

The Basics of Candle Safety

Candles are an open flame and fuel source inside your house! Just use good judgement and don't burn your house down!

How to Maximize Burn Time and Fragrance

  • Trim your wick to 1/4 inch. Our wicks have been specially selected and tested for optimal performance in our premium soy blend wax formulation. A properly trimmed wick will ensure the correct burn temperature for the wax and vessel type, maximizing burn time and minimize sooting. If your flame is dancing excessively or sooting - extinguish your candle and trim the wick before relighting.

  • Burn the top layer of your candle completely, which should take approximately 3 hours in our vessels. This will allow the melt pool to approach the edge of the jar, minimizing the risk of tunneling and wax waste.

  • Speaking of wax waste, don't stress over the small amount of wax left unburned at the bottom of the jar. Our candle wick clips were chosen specifically to extinguish the flame while wax still remains in the bottom of the vessel. This safety feature ensures that the vessel does not overheat and risk breakage.

The Fine Print

  • Never leave a burning candle unattended.

  • Never burn a candle on or near something that may catch fire such as furniture, drapes, bedding, carpets, or paper.

  • Ensure children and pets cannot reach burning candles, and that they cannot be knocked over.

  • Avoid drafts, vents, or air currents which will help prevent rapid or uneven burning and sooting.

  • Never touch or move a candle while it is burning or while the wax is liquified.

  • Place burning candles at least 3 inches apart from one another.
